KT Enterprises, LLC of Watford City must post a bond of $465,000 bond as part of its approval for new waste oil treating plant in McKenzie County limited to storage and processing capacity of 9,300 barrels.
Lynn Helms, director of the ND Dept. of Mineral Resources, approved the plant located in Sec. 22, T150N-R96W in combination with a slurry fracture injection disposal well.
The plant will process waste oil, tank bottoms, drilling mud and the total capacity of all the tanks is 8,600 barrels and the gross dike capacity is 8,742 barrels.
The plant is designed to process 5,000 barrels of liquid emulsion waste a day.
A two-foot perimeter dike will be built around the plant and saltwater disposal facilities with a gross capacity of 45,544 barrels.
The plant was modified from its original design approved in March and the bond was also reduced from the original amount of $909,000.
